Our analysis today compares two tyres: the Linglong Grip Master 4S, produced by Linglong, and the Kleber Quadraxer 3, manufactured by Kleber. We will discuss their strengths and weaknesses, as well as their performance in various tyre tests.
Let us start with the Linglong Grip Master 4S. This tyre has been commended for its safe handling and good comfort, proving fairly valuable given its price. According to autobild 2024, it offers high mileage and a safe dry road experience. However, it had mediocre performance on snowy and wet conditions and an ordinary hydroplaning reserve. Furthermore, it had a significantly lower test position in AUTOBILD and Autobild tests, ranking 14th out of 37 and 20th out of 35 respectively.
On the other hand, we have the Kleber Quadraxer 3, which is a successor to the Kleber Quadraxer 2. The Quadraxer 3 scored an impressive 87% in our evaluations and performed well in the tests. It had an average position of 7 and 8 in the AUTOBILD and Autobild tests, demonstrating better overall performance compared to the Linglong tyre. Best features included comfort, exterior noise, snow cornering, and snow traction. It also received praise for good performance on snow, as well as secure aquaplaning properties and short dry braking distances, according to autobild 2024. However, it was criticized for a delayed steering response and underperforming wet handling.
In conclusion, while the Linglong Grip Master 4S may be suitable for budget-conscious customers prioritizing comfort and dry performance, the Kleber Quadraxer 3 clearly outperforms it in tests, especially concerning handling and performance in snow. The Quadraxer 3, thanks to its good aquaplaning properties, improved comfort, and better performance, seems to offer higher overall value, even in more challenging winter conditions.
Please note, both tyres are labelled as "allround" despite differing significantly in test results. Consequently, careful consideration is suggestive when choosing a set of new tyres.
